The Timber Creek High School Band in Keller ISD, Texas, is currently expanding their colorguard program. We need two part-time colorguard technicians to assist our full-time guard instructor at the middle school and high school levels.

Candidates would need to have experience in WGI and/or DCI or a highly competitive high school. They would need to be skilled in movement and flag. Experience with weapon is preferred but not necessary. You would need to be able teach marching fundamentals and drill.

The middle school position would start at the beginning of the 2017-2018 schoolyear and would be year-round. The first semester would focus on learning fundamentals and beginning to teach a competitive indoor show for the Spring. The Spring semester would consist of creating a competitive show and attending competitions. This is the first year that we will have colorguard at the middle school level, so we are looking for someone with great enthusiasm and recruitment skills to launch this program.

The high school position is a larger time commitment. We want to hire this position as soon as possible. Rehearsals will begin this summer, but the majority of the teaching will begin late July and early August. We understand that some qualified candidates might be marching DCI. We can be flexible with your start date. During the schoolyear, we would need you to be available during the colorguard class and after school. The marching band is highly competitive and performs weekly at football games and marching contests, for which you would need to attend as much as possible. The Spring semester is indoor season. We have top-notch designers who would create the show, floor, and costuming. This is a great environment where you would get to teach with a well-known design team.

Timber Creek High School opened in 2009. The band program is nearly 300 members strong and highly competitive in Texas UIL, WGI, and BOA circuits. All staff members have experience competing internationally with some of the top groups in the activity. We look forward to expanding our team. Come grow with us!
